Animate Models and Doors During Video Presentations

A highly requested feature makes its appearance in VORTEK Spaces: the ability to automatically animate doors and 3D models during a video recording. These new animations let you control both mechanical movements and animated behaviors directly inside viewpoints list — making your presentations more dynamic, realistic, and immersive. Ideal for cabinet makers willing to showcase the depth and details of their cabinets, or for closet designers willing to bring some wow factor to their presentation.

  • Add animations using the “+” button in the viewpoint list (Visit tab).
  • Two new animation types: Opening Animation for models that can open & On/Off Animations for animated objects such as ceiling fans or stove burners.
  • Upon opening the animation properties, click directly on the models you want to animate to trigger animations during the video playback.
  • Animate multiple objects at once by selecting multiple models in the same animation.
  • Stack animations with different delays to create richer storytelling sequences.

What can can be animated

  • Doors, drawers, cabinets, and appliances opening and closing.
  • Animated objects such as cooktop flames, faucets or ceiling fans (on/off control).
  • Any compatible model from CAD imports or the VORTEK Spaces library.

How much control do you have?

  • Set opening delay (in seconds) before animations start.
  • Enable or disable automatic closing behavior.
  • Preview animations in real time using a dedicated slider.
  • Expert Mode: Adjust animation speed for precise timing.

Furthermore, architectural elements such as staircases, moldings and windows are now ignored when object entrance and exit animations are played. A new option is available in those animation’s properties to reactivate their entrance.

Whether you’re showcasing storage functionality or highlighting key design elements, this system helps you communicate intent clearly and create presentations that truly stand out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the new animations ?

You can animate both mechanical elements (doors, drawers, appliances) and animated objects (fans, lights, cooktops) using the new Opening Animation and On/Off Animation available upon clicking on the “+” button in the viewpoints list of the Visit tab.

Can I animate multiple objects at once?

Yes. Multiple selected objects will animate simultaneously. You can also chain animations with different delays to create more dynamic sequences.

What happens if I try to animate an already animated object?

Trying to animate an already animated object will trigger the opposite animation. For example, settings an On/Off Animation for an already spinning ceiling fan will stop the fan from spinning, and vice versa. Settings an Opening Animation for an already opened cabinet will automatically close the cabinet door, unless the Auto Close toggle is off.

Do the new animations work with CAD-imported projects?

Yes. Animations work with both CAD-imported models and VORTEK Spaces library assets, as long as they support those types of interactions.

Where can I view update notes inside the app?
